Grace Appears

August 30, 2005

As another summer was coming to an end,  I found myself searching the stacks at my neighborhood library for something “really” big to sink my teeth into. Instead, I came across something inspirational, timeless and heartwarming wrapped in the page of a small book (a stark white cover with the exception of the bright yellow mums).

“were it not for grace” is a powerful collection of short stories by a dozen women who have faced self-doubt, divorce, loss and denial. Christian author Leslie Montgomery is there as First Lady Laura Bush pours out her heart about living with regrets and Condoleezza Rice shares her quietest thoughts. We see courage take the form of small decisions and encouragement and guidance from prominent women who walk with the Lord each and every day in their own unique ways. Ms. Montgomery interviewed hundreds of women and selected twelve Christian Women unafraid to share their stories with you. The best gift of love you can give a friend is this book.

Recently I was doubly blessed with a personal note from the author.

“Hello, Charlene~ (That's the name of my daughter by the way) I really appreciate your kind words. I love the Lord and know that through our writing He is able to minister to the hearts of others. That holds us as authors to a great responsibility, doesn't it? Please look for my next release in February, 2006, entitled, Engaging the Enemy: A Woman's Guide to Spiritual Warfare and in the summer of 2006, Parental Warriors: A Parent's Guide to Spiritual Warfare. They will both encourage and equip you as a woman and writer. Please keep in touch as I'd love to hear how the Lord is working through your own work.

Passionately for Him. Leslie Montgomery”
