We can all use a little more laughter this holiday season. Why, with the baby Jesus being stolen from a crèche, e-holiday cards jamming up email boxes like never before and people tiptoeing around the words, MERRY CHRISTMAS, what’s a Christian to do? On top of all of this, I just learned from a Rabbi that pastors are telling their flock, “stay home”, worship with family around a dinner table and don't show up to church on Christmas Day. Oy vey, what’s a person to do?
Actually, celebrating Christmas and Chanukah on the same day has simplified our lives quite a bit. Think about it! Who generally fills up those movies theaters on Christmas? And then there’s a new dilemma that arises: Where will we be able to get good Chinese food on December 25th?
The good news is that Monday, December 26th will add layers of questions to our already complicated lives like: which businesses will celebrate Christmas on Monday; will the banks be open for business; when will trash be picked up and where can we get good Chinese food that day?
